Lesson Plan: Week 2- August 23rd-27th

Lesson title: Animals & Society

Goal: To gain basic understanding of animal rights vs. animal welfare and laws put into place to protect animals.

Description: Information on different types of animals and their classifications, animal rights founders, groups, animal welfare groups and laws put into place to protect animals are provided in this presentation. Students will also learn to understand the difference between animal rights and animal welfare and the different laws which have been created to protect animals.

Objectives:
1. To identify various animal types and their roles in society.

2. To understand the difference between animal rights and animal welfare.

3. To identify and interpret laws which have been put into effect for the protection of animals.
